About the role

Working in a team environment, you will undertake a range of equipment installations and configuration duties. You will perform impact assessments on complex networks, as well as build test plans and analyse the results.

The role involves incident resolution (third line), root cause analysis, monitoring, traffic analysis/reporting and service improvement of Advanced IP networking (VLANs, HSRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS-layer 2/3 switching, QoS, VPNs) and security infrastructure across multiple vendors.

Additionally, the role will participate in actively maintaining the existing network estate involvement in the delivery of new services and infrastructure components into live support. You will be expected to suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability.

About You

The ideal candidate will be multi-skilled and experienced in second- and third-line incident resolution and root cause analysis on corporate network technologies.

You will lead on assessing new technologies and new services so will need to be inquisitive and curious. Attention to detail is important as producing detailed documentation for designs need to be complete. You will be a coach- mentoring other network engineers to develop and enhance skill levels and capabilities within the department.
