As the Glide group steps up in scale and increases corporate activity there is a requirement for a central resource to be responsible for, manage and co-ordinate all legal affairs, compliance and regulatory aspects of the Group, making sure the Group continues to meet all legal obligations.

Reporting to the Group CFO, the individual will be a qualified lawyer and will be responsible for establishing, managing and developing the Group legal function to ensure compliance across all aspects of trading and all geographies.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage all aspects of commercial contracting across the group

o establishing boiler plate/standard terms

o establish and manage authority limits

o establishment and management of signing procedures

  • Drafting, negotiating and approving for signing all contracting across the group including (but not limited to) customer agreements, supplier agreements, partnership agreements, purchase agreements, NDAs etc – note the activity of the Group includes UK and other European countries (Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Austria, France)
  • Set up, manage and maintain a central contracts database for all Group contractual commitments
  • Control legal budgets across the group – ensure minimal spend with external legal providers
  • Set up and manage a legal panel of experts for specialist areas – property, IPR, regulatory, GDPR, corporate
  • Ensure the company is ready for legal due diligence in the event of a corporate transaction (M&A, disposals, buy-out, corporate sale etc) – be ready to populate a Vendor Data room and assist the CFO in all aspects of such activity
  • Set up and manage the Group’s Risk register
  • Management of Non-HR policies and standards – ensuring compliance and employees awareness
  • Assist CFO with management of Trademarks and applications as required
  • Be the key relationship holder with landlords, customer legal teams, regulatory etc
  • Main point of contact across the group for regulatory compliance (telecoms, AML, ABC, GDPR etc)
  • Manage legal activity for debt collections

Qualifications/Technical Skills

  • Qualified solicitor with at least 10 years PQE experience – must have an excellent understanding and knowledge of commercial and corporate law


  • Hands on experience gained in practice and in a commercial in-house legal department
  • Experience of the telecommunications industry is essential
  • Experience of the utilities industry would be advantageous but not critical
  • Commercial contracting experience is essential – in the UK and across Europe
  • Experience of a leveraged, PE backed business desirable
  • Working closely with senior management teams
